Dr. Neale O’Connor FCPA moved to Hong Kong in 1996 and is recognized as an expert on the management practices of Chinese firms. He is the founder and director of the China Supplier 1000 Project, the largest ever face to face interview study of Chinese Suppliers. China Supplier 1000 Project is a corporate research project focusing on strategic and operational risk issues faced by overseas buyers and Chinese suppliers. Exploring how Chinese suppliers win contracts and manage their large customers.
He has been interviewed by Financial Times, Global Sources, Chief Executive China and In the Black. Neale has also spoken to many industry associations throughout Asia. He is also a senior consultant of the China Lab at Silk Road Associates (Hong Kong), which provides corporate and strategic consulting advice to SMEs and Multinationals.
Neale has developed corporate business cases for a number of large multinational companies including HTC, PQI, Philips, Delphi, and Alpharma. His cases are used extensively around the world, with over 8000 purchases to date.
He has taught at The City University of Hong Kong, The University of Hong Kong, National University of Singapore and is presently at Hong Kong Baptist University.
